Profuse apologies... the site went down pretty hard over the weekend.
What happened? Well, I had decided to shift my domains to a new registrar. Unfortunately the transfer process screwed up; the new registrar's system told the world to use the old registrar's name servers. But because I'd transferred away, their system had deleted all my DNS records.
DNS is quite a fundamental part of the internet, it tells your computer where multisport.net.nz actually is. So without the appropriate DNS records, noone can connect to the site.
Long story short, I had to set up all of my DNS records again from scratch. All of my sites were down and it also impacted my email. I was not happy.
Unfortunately with DNS there's a lot of caching designed into the system. It helps to spread the load but it means changes will take a minimum of a few hours to take effect. So if something breaks it can take ages to fix and all you can do is wait.
And to think half the reason I switched was to improve reliability
